Hello, my name is Jade. I am majoring in Childhood and Youth Studies with minors in Critical Race Studies and Disability Studies. A primary interest of mine in running for council is solidifying stronger accessibility policy for CUSA. I want Carleton to live up to its reputation as what many refer to as “Canada’s Most Accessible University”. I believe that accessibility should extend to student life within and outside of the classroom, and that the whole community benefits when disability justice is a core focus of leadership and accountability. I hope that I can bring this commitment to council!

I am a fourth year industrial design student and former president of & Design, a club which represents students in Architecture, Industrial Design, and ID. I have also volunteered for EngFrosh, CSES, Leo’s Lounge, among other FED activities.

Hi, I’m Hanna! I’m a first-year Global and International Studies student specializing in Law and Social Justice, and I’m running to represent the Faculty of Global and Public Affairs. My experiences in student leadership have shown me how important it is for students to feel supported, heard, and connected within their faculty. Being part of the Outreach Team for the Somali Student Association has shaped my passion for advocacy and community-building and reinforced my belief in uplifting underrepresented voices. As a councillor, I want to strengthen communication within FGPA and help create more inclusive and accessible student spaces.

Maya Briggs is a second year Economics and Political Science student at Carleton University. In the course of her time at Carleton, she has been involved in student clubs, such as the United Nations Society, undertaking administrative and leadership positions. If elected, she will work to ensure the 2026 CUSA council term reflects the FGPA students concerns and needs. By questioning CUSA executives, advocating for fair club funding, and raising issues brought to her attention, council meetings will be centered on what benefits the students and clubs the most.

Hi! I’m Lynn-Nancy Okafor, a third-year Honours BA student in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a Minor in Law. I’ve built my leadership skills through working with students and being involved on campus in ways that prioritize safety, collaboration, and community. I’m running for Faculty of Public and Global Affairs Councillor to strengthen how students are represented and informed. I’ll advocate for accessible services, transparent updates, and regular opportunities for students to share feedback, so council work reflects what students actually need. If elected, I’ll prioritize student feedback, stronger transparency, and practical improvements in students’ day-to-day faculty experience.

Kaylie is a second year Political Science student with a concentration in International Relations. This year, she is serving as the Events Director for the Carleton United Nations Society as well as a secondary club representative for CUSA’s Clubs Oversight Commission. She wishes to continue supporting CUSA clubs through advocacy on behalf of improved access to resources and funding. Furthermore, she would like to work towards improving the transparency of CUSA operations to students. She wishes to do so by providing students with forums where they can express concerns they’d like to be addressed in council and social media updates of council meetings.
