Foot Patrol

We have modified our services for the duration of the COVID-19 outbreak. Current Foot Patrol
services include:

Walk and Talk phone line (613-520-4449):
Give us a call if you feel unsafe walking anywhere, or if you’re bored, lonely, or feel isolated
and want someone to talk to! Available 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM, 7 days a week.
Walk and Talk texting line (343-883-8169):
Prefer chatting over text? Feeling bored, lonely, or isolated? Send us a message! Available 6:00
PM – 2:00 AM, 7 days a week.
Please note that the Walk and Talk texting line is a temporary service addition due to COVID-19
and will be disabled once regular services resume.
Borrow a First Aid Kit:
Foot Patrol’s Borrow a First Aid Kit service currently offers no-contact delivery and retrieval for
Carleton students living anywhere in Ottawa. Please see the Borrow a First Aid Kit heading below for details and contact footpatrol@cusaonline.ca to borrow a kit.

Foot Patrol is not a crisis line. If you are in distress, please call the Ottawa Distress Centre at
613-238-3311 or your regional crisis hotline.
Foot Patrol’s safe walk and Guardian event team services will be restarted after on-campus
classes are deemed safe to resume by Carleton University.

Other Resources:
Foot Patrol’s Crisis and Support Resources Guide offers a convenient list of both on and off-campus resources available to Carleton students and the greater Ottawa community. Please note that some service information may be inaccurate as resources have not been verified since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
