CUSA VPSL Abdullah Jaber Resignation

January 10th, 2019

As announced at CUSA council on January 8th, 2019, current Vice President Student Life Abdullah Jaber will be resigning from his role following admission into New Zealand College of Chiropractic with no option for deferred admission. CUSA has decided to absorb the responsibilities of the VPSL within the President and VP Finance portfolios for the remainder of the semester, saving approximately $10,000 in salaries payable from the Executive honorarium budget line.

“Although the student life portfolio is traditionally not as heavy in the winter semester, Luke and I will work closely together to ensure that we still provide the programming that was promised to students,” said David Oladejo, CUSA President.

The executives for the 2019-2020 school year will be decided through General Election on January 30th and 31st. “We will work with the incoming CUSA executives, which would include the incoming VPSL, to give them the best transition possible following the election,” said Luke Taylor Scott, VP Finance.
