Brown/Round/Here/Queer: An Evening with Call Me They
March 16 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
*This event is taking place on unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin land. This means that the land on which we will gather was never consensually given over. Though the ways we have all come to be on this land may differ, please think about what this means to you.*
Hey hey hey!
Come listen to AC Dumlao, the person behind Call Me They speak via video chat about their unique experience existing as a trans non-binary Filipino-American!
AC is dedicated to affirming and uplifting underrepresented folks and their intersectional identities. They run the social justice Facebook Call Me They, their primary platform, as well as the Instagram @menswearselfcare, where genderqueer fashion and radical self-care meet. AC has been profiled by NBC Asian America‘s #RedefineAtoZ 2017, and their writing has been featured on Wear Your Voice Magazine and The Huffington Post.
Hear them speak in the lovely comfort of the cozy Gender and Sexuality Resource Centre (GSRC). Snacks will be provided.
This is a FREE event 🙂
See you there!
The GSRC is located on 4th-floor University Centre at the end of the corridor away from the CUSA offices.
There are two elevators that both access the fourth floor. There are gender-non-specific accessible bathrooms right across from the Center.
We cannot promise that this will be a scent-free environment.
Carleton University is accessible by the 4, 7, 111, and 104 routes as well as the O-train. Please note that bus routes have been affected by the CUPE strike and might not serve the on-campus bus stops. If the strike is still in place at the time of the event, you can get off on Bronson just outside the school and walk in from there.
